Agnes Keil – The human being in pose and movement.
A laudation on the occasion of the exhibition, in the Fritz Winter Gallery

“the human being in pose and movement” is Agnes Keil´s heading for her exhibition in the Fritz Winter
gallery. Three years after her first appearance near here in Unteren Schloss Pähl, the artist is
presenting predominantly new pieces of work.
It´s already been said in her heading: the central issue she deals with in her art is the human figure.
The large, bright, sun-lit room in Michael Gausling´s gallery offers the exhibits a really special
stage: in and outside, exhibition space and sculpture park melt into one another.
The exhibits on display in and outside conduct an exciting dialogue with nature and architecture. The
latter has, of course, made space for the exhibits.
“Sculptures created under the principle of space, rhythm, proportion and reduction work as small
statues as well as monumental pieces of art,” Agnes Keil once wrote this about her work (catalogue
“bronze”, 2007), a piece of work that acknowledges the inexhaustible imagination of its creator.
Her irrepressible delight in looking at the human figure, its movement, gestures and pose give her
